Jartron the robot dances, shoots laser beams!

MZ_Jameco-RobotBuild-1.gif

Dan Ray submitted this outstanding robot to the Make: Robot build. Jartron navigates using stereoscopic rangefinders and four legs with curly toes, and is known to journey to far away places to entertain the creatures that he finds there:

Jartron the robot seeks distant places, but will take momentary interest in very close things. He is known to spontaneously perform LASER light shows and draw on the wall.

Reminder: The robot build contest deadline is tonight! Almost got your bot finished? Don't forget to submit your entry! The deadline is May 10th, at 11:59pm PDT. Remember, everyone who submits an entry gets a Makers Notebook!

Leaked iPad App Store Pictures

Here they are, the first pictures of Apple's forthcoming iPad App Store. The company "will be using the HD moniker to denote applications that have either been tweaked in a special iPad version, or have had their resolution upped so they wouldn't just be scaled standard apps." Continue reading for one more picture.

Additionally, we're seeing some applications that aren't even available on the iPhone right now, such as the $49.99 OmniGraffle, which we're assuming will be very close to its desktop counterpart.

MacHeist: Get 8 Mac Apps Worth $280 For $20 [Dealzmodo]

MacHeist's nanoBundle 2 offer is almost over, which means the really good apps are on the verge of being unlocked. Already available? Tales of Monkey Island, in both Mac and PC versions.

By the time you read this post, RapidWeaver should already be unlocked, and it should be very, very close to unlocking Tweetie at around 50 or 60k bundles sold. Once Rapidweaver is unlocked, that should be no problem. Note: this isn't just the Tweetie that's out now, but beta access (and a free upgrade) to Tweetie 2, with the features that were found on Tweetie 2 for iPhone.

In any case, $20 for all these apps is a great deal. [MacHeist]
