Flipper USB Works Any Way You Plug It [USB]

I'd say my success rate at correctly plugging in a USB connector on the first try is well below average. And honestly, the second time doesn't always work either. Embarrassing! But UltraTek's "Flipper" USB connector makes the point entirely moot. More

Concept: Metro USB Clip

Concept: Metro USB Clip

The Metro USB Clip concept is quite a useful design if you're always wearing a tie and suit. Instead of having to fumble around for your USB flash drive, this one can be clipped to your tie, holding it on place, and being easy to access. There's an additional benefit of the data on your drive being automatically backed up to the second drive, though how it works wasn't mentioned. There will be different color options to help it match your tie and suit too. Would you pay for such a gadget?

A Python Code That Makes Any Song Swing [Music]

We rarely write about coding projects, but this particular one is too wonderful to keep to ourselves. It basically makes any song swing by "time-stretching the first half of each beat while time-shrinking the second half." The results sound fantastic: More

Real Toyota iQ Car Turned into Computer Mouse

The iQ may be Toyota's first foray into computer hardware, but it's definitely functional. The system makes use of "special software to turn the car's movements, tracked from above with a camera, into those of a cursor on the giant screen." Video after the break.

The first laptop sent these co-ordinates to the second laptop 30 times per second. The second laptop read these co-ordinates and moved its mouse cursor in real-time. That image was then projected onto the large screen.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to get Android 2.1 update

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to get Android 2.1 update

Word has it that the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 will be getting an Android 2.1 update later in the second half of the year, introducing multitouch capability as well. It is interesting to note that by that time, Android 2.2, also known as Froyo, will be available then, making such an update late to the party. On the bright side, at least it is better than remaining stuck at Android 1.6, eh?
