Apple: 3 Million Magical iPads Sold [Ipad]

Less than three months in, and Apple has already sold three million iPads. That's a pretty impressive number, definitely bolstered by the tablet's recent international release. In fact, Apple's sold a million iPads in the last three weeks alone. More

Two Million People Now Own iPads [Ipad]

Two million. That's a big, big number—and certainly a far cry from the 300,000 Apple sold on the launch day. It's largely helped by the international launch last Friday in the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. More

Barnes & Noble Nook now up for order at Best Buy’s website

Our watches may be off by a few hours or so, but April 18th it ain't. Evidently that matters not, as Barnes & Noble's Nook is now up for order on Best Buy's website, a full five days earlier than we were expecting it. 'Course, in-store pickup still isn't available, but those who plunk down the plastic online should see it ship out within a day or so. If you're still fond of these e-reader things, and you're kosher with a few quirks, the big yellow sticker would be happy to craft a shipping label with your name on it for $259.99.

[Thanks, Absolution]

Zune HD drops $30-$40 at Amazon, Newegg

This looks like it may be more of a price war than an official price drop, but anyone in the market for a Zune HD may one to pay a visit to Amazon or Newegg fairly soon, as they're now both selling the device for what appears to be the lowest price yet. While there's no telling how long it'll last, you can now snag a black 16GB Zune HD for $189.99 ($30 off the MSRP), or a 32GB Platinum Zune HD for $249.99 (a discount of $40). As of this writing, most other retailers seem to be offering nothing more than $20 discounts, though we have a suspicion that may change in the near future.

[Thanks, Keith]

GM Offering Dealers Large Incentives On Pontiac, Saturn Cars

GM has just announced that it will offer dealers $7,000 for any Pontiac or Saturn cars sold. The "$7,000 in cash goes straight to dealers, meaning that a dealer can give you all or only some of the $7,000 off the vehicle if they so choose." Continue reading for Top Gear's Pontiac G8 review.

The catch to the sale is that the vehicle will be sold as used since dealers will officially be the first owners of the vehicle. That could effect customers' ability to purchase a new vehicle with a GM employee or supplier discount.

Several bidders line up to buy Motorola’s set-top box division

It hasn't been much of a secret that Motorola is looking to sell its set-top box business, and it looks like several potential suitors are already lining up to place bids on the division now that the company has put the word out in a slightly more formal manner. While everything is obviously still in the earliest stages, Reuters reports that a number of major private equity firms -- including Bain Capital, TPG Capital, and the Blackstone Group -- have informed Motorola of their interest in the business, with other companies including equipment maker Arris also said to be considering a bid. Details are otherwise a bit light, as you might expect, but at least some folks have valued the business as high as $4.5 billion -- although other "sources familiar with the matter" say the bidding will likely stay under $4 billion.

TomTom feels jolly, temporarily drops price of iPhone GPS app

TomTom has done a respectable job of keeping its iPhone GPS app up to date when compared to formidable options from Navigon and the like, but today it's making its biggest move yet by way of a significant price drop. We've heard directly from the company (and confirmed with our own two peepers) that the US and Canada version of the app is now on sale for $69.99, while a US-only version is currently on sale for just $49.99. If you'll recall, the former was just selling for $99.99 a few days ago, so if you're planning on making that fateful trip to grandmother's house again this year, you might want a robotic gal leading the way. Just sayin'. [Warning: Source link directs to iTunes]

Apple and Psystar settle their differences

Apple and Psystar settle their differences

It took a protracted 17 months of litigation between Apple and clone Mac maker Psystar, where most people would be extremely weary of the case by now. Well, we could see the end of this ordeal soon with an agreement between both parties rumored to be unveiled sometime this week. It is rumored that Psystar might be able to cover the sale of all clone hardware with Mac OS X preinstalled. All's well that ends well, we say.
