OmniVision OV9740 CMOS sensor works better in video

OmniVision's latest OV9740 CMOS sensor is pretty special, especially when you consider that this camera sensor will work in tandem with the processor for quality video recording purposes. The OV9740's CMOS sensor comes with a 720p maximum resolution, where it will also process the entire photo or video on the chip to provide you with the chance to get that money shot even when you're under low light conditions. Currently, test samples are made available to companies using them, and mass production should occur in a month's time. No wonder the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 (both of which feature an OmniVision sensor within) are able to shoot more than decent images and video without missing a beat.

Sharp SH-10B being prepared for Japan

Sharp is more than ready to rock and roll with their latest mobile internet device (MID) known as the SH-10B, which is pretty special since it has jumped aboard the Android bandwagon by featuring Google's operating system. Folks in Japan will benefit from a crisp, high-resolution 5" display alongside 5.3-megapixel and 4.3-megapixel cameras, where the latter can be seen when this clamshell MID is opened. Not only that, you won't fall short of wireless radio options thanks to built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 and HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity, not to mention additional features including GPS/A-GPS and a digital TV tuner. Good thing its internal 3.4GB memory can be augmented by popping in an SD memory card. There is no word on pricing, but expect it to hit the Japanese market this July 23rd. Could this be a precursor to Android-powered MIDs in the US?

Rolex Deep Sea Special: Water resistant to 35,840 feet
Sure, you think you're pretty special with your Timex that's water resistant to 100 meters. Maybe you even have a divers watch, that'll go down to 300 meters. They don't have anything on this Rolex, it's been down to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, and came back alive.

HP Compaq 6005 Pro runs on AMD processor

HP's Compaq 6005 Pro desktop is pretty special since it runs on an AMD processor, featuring a footprint of a piece of paper, making it tiny enough to be hung onto the back of a display. Apart from that, this holds the distinction of being the first truly green computer from HP as it no longer uses BFRs (bromide flame retardants) and PVC plastics in its manufacturing. Prices start from $599 upwards, where the most basic model is equipped with an AMD Sempron processor, a 160GB hard drive, a DVD burner and a Radeon HD 4200 integrated video card. Of course, if your budget permits, you can always upgrade the processor to to Athlon II as well as Phenom II X2, X3 and X4 processors. No idea on pricing, but expect it to hit the market from April 26th onwards.

Now that is a special edition

Wow. I thought Modern Warfare 2’s night vision goggles made for a pretty special edition, but this edition of Enemy Zero, a mediocre Sega Saturn game, is the specialest of them all. The crate it comes in? Not a novelty crate! It’s the smallest container they could find that would hold all the wonderful things they wanted to give you.

So what exactly is in this cornucopia of survival horror ephemera? Well, in addition to the “normal” special edition of the game, you get shirts, a promotional costume they used at shows, a replica of the gun from the game, a VHS tape of the game’s music (?!), and about 500 other things.
It was put up on Yahoo! Auctions in Japan, and sold for… are you ready for this? It was sold for 300,000¥, or around $3300. Mother of god! Even a mint copy of Radiant Silvergun will only go for a few hundred!
