Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate seen, has just been spotted in the wild

We know that the Samsung Fascinate will be arriving Stateside via Verizon Wireless, but the long wait isn't something that some people enjoy. Just in case you are not in the know, the Samsung Fascinate is a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S, and Verizon might just be pacing itself and not flood the market with too many high end Android-powered phones at once. It will come with a metallic body that clearly makes it stand out from the rest of its variants which tend to feel a whole lot more plasticky. There is also word of a Samsung Gem heading from Verizon as well, where this low-end to mid-range device will sport a smaller display than the Fascinate, rolling out this September. Could it come with Android 2.2? Only time will tell, but we will be disappointed if it didn't.

Asus Eee PC 1001PQ has unusual lid design

The Asus Eee PC 1001PQ has pretty much standard specifications where a netbook is concerned, featuring staples like an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHZ processor, a 10.1" display at 1024 x 600 resolution, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity as well as a choice between a 3- or 6-cell battery. What makes it stand out from the crowd would be its rather different netbook lid design, coming in either “Flame Purple” or Vibrant Gold” (as seen above) colors. Not only that, you will also find a set of stickers for you to customize the lid design according to your preference. Pre-adolescents are the target market crowd for the 1001PQ, although we're quite sure some of you out there won't mind toting one of these puppies around. Small kids should be using the family computer so that parents can supervise just which sites they're visiting instead of having a netbook they call their own.

Samsung N230 netbook to roll out soon

Samsung will be introducing their N230 netbook in the near future, where it is currently on parade at the World IT Show 2010. Being a netbook, it doesn't boast anything that will make you jump out from your seat (in a positive manner), but what makes it stand out from th rest would be its stylish exterior that might help veer indecisive folks make a purchase decision that leans toward Samsung's way, if it all boils down to aesthetics. Specifications-wise, you get a 10.1" display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive and Windows 7 Starter as its operating system of choice. Best to get a cleaning cloth to go along with each purchase, considering a fair number of fingerprints will be making their way to its a glossy lid, faux-aluminium palm rest, chrome hinges and rimless chiclet keyboard. Startech SATDOCK22R Dual SATA hard drive dock

Startech's SATDOCK22R Dual SATA hard drive dock is different from the rest, although it looks like any other USB 2.0 docking station from its exterior. What makes it stand out would be its ability to clone drives without the need for a PC to act as an intermediary. Apart from that, it will always have a master image drive ready without taxing your computer. Startech is offering the SATDOCK22R Dual SATA hard drive dock for $170, and seems to be a pretty useful tool to carry around if you're always on-the-go and have tons of data to transfer.

Urban Scooter Concept Design

Want to do some light travelling around the city? The Urban Scooter, designed by Daniel Dayag, concept looks pretty neat and should do the job. Of course, it being a scooter, you can’t expect to lug anything around aside from yourself, but if you just needed to pop by the next block to have a cup of coffee at Starbucks, this might be just the thing. The spoke-less wheel design also makes it stand out from the other dinky scooters that you might encounter out there, ensuring that you make a statement.

Alienware M11x gaming notebook

[CES 2010] The lines between a notebook and netbook are definitely blurring, with the Dell Alienware M11x gaming notebook being the latest device that ought to keep you happy if you're a hardcore gamer who loves getting your game on wherever you are. The M11x comes in a 11" form factor, and has both HDMI and VGA output. It supports resolution of up to 720p, so that means there is no Blu-ray drive in there, but what makes it stand out is the ability to switch between integrated graphics as well as its NVIDIA GT335M graphics card on-the-fly – that means not having to reboot whenever you switch. Imagine working on your thesis paper on integrated graphics, and instantly switching to the gaming mode to get your game on. On integrated graphics, you are able to hit up to 6 hours of battery life, and 2 hours if you're on gaming mode. Performance figures provided seems pretty expensive, capable of hitting 6,000 to 7,000 figures in 3DMark and 30fps in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with all the bells and whistles turned on. At just 11" in size, this is a dream – and best of all is the price point that won't surpass the $1,000 mark. We think this is vastly more significant in terms of improvement compared to last year's Adamo launch (read our review) which was really just a very pretty notebook.

Microsoft’s Arc Keyboard Is Really Warped [Peripherals]
As far as functionality is concerned, Microsoft's wireless Arc keyboard is fairly standard. However, the crazy, warped design is what really makes it stand out.
"The design tenets that we looked to for the Arc Keyboard were simplicity and crisp softness, creating an aesthetic for this product that is casual and sophisticated at the same time," said Monique Chatterjee, industrial designer for Microsoft Hardware. "We drew our design inspiration directly from the places where we envision this product will be used so it perfectly blends with existing home accessories."
Kind of looks like they drew their inspiration from hallucinogenic substances, but hey—it could be really comfortable to use. [Microsoft]
