Custom-Built District 9 Arc Gun Looks Like the Real Thing

District 9 is still one of the year's best sci-fi films, despite being released in the latter half, and this custom-built arc gun looks to be an actual movie prop at first glance. According to its creator, this gun "was made entirely from found objects and hardware store materials." Click here for first picture in gallery.
It took two weeks from drafting to completion, and is very heavy! the majority of the components are hard-woods, sheet metal, and heat molded plastic.
